What the Skills Assessment Includes
The Initial Skills Assessment is a two-hour, one-on-one session with your child and our Director. During this time, we document your child’s baseline abilities in:
- Alphabetic Knowledge
- Handwriting
- Sight Words
- Phonological Awareness
- Phonemic Awareness
- Reading Fluency
- Spelling
- Reading Comprehension
This information is used to create an individualized plan based on your child’s unique needs and where support is needed.
Written Report &
Parent Conference
After the assessment:
- You’ll receive a comprehensive written report (yours to keep).
- A 1-hour conference with our Director to review results in detail.
- We’ll answer your questions and explain next steps.
- You’ll leave with practical recommendations — including how to better advocate for your child at school.

Cost
The Skills Assessment Package is $450. This includes:
- Two-hour student assessment
- Detailed written report
- One-hour parent conference
- Individualized resources & materials should your child tutor with ETC
Note: The assessment fee covers testing and reporting. You are not obligated to begin tutoring with ETC.
